Gopi is not new to Venkat Prabhu as he was the commentator in the movie Chennai 600028.The event was filled with dance shows from various groups which set the stage on fire. The singing of 'super singer' Sathya Prakash impressed one and all. Venkat Prabhu and company gave away the awards to the winners from SFG 2011. The surprise element in the event was Gangai Amaren's surprise entry arranged by The Sight media. The 500 odd crowd went mad after the team took the stage along with veteran film maker Kasthuri Raja, to declare the Mankatha 100th day celebration by cutting a massive cake .Gangai Amaren who is renowned for his effective speech skills, didn't disappoint any. He said that he has a 'Big' plan for short films which he is currently working on. He said that he did not want to reveal the plan till it was completely worked out, he said. Vidya Balan embroiled in new controversy courtesy The Dirty Picture While on one hand, Ekta Kapoor's home production The Dirty Picture has been breaking Box Office records, on the other, the film still finds itself embroiled in some controversy or the other. The latest controversy is that a city court in Andhra Pradesh has directed the police to book actress Vidya Balan for posing indecently on the film's posters and other publicity material. The Nampally Criminal Court passed the order based on a petition filed by advocate S.K.Azad. The petitioner said the posters and hoardings of the film were spoiling the minds of the people and causing harm to the society and hence requested the police to book Vidya Balan under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also Indian Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. Victory Venkatesh who is currently awaiting the release of his next film Bodyguard is celebrating his 51 birthday today. Incidentally, the audio launch function of this film is going to be held at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad today. Usually,Venkatesh will be celebrating his birthdays in foreign countries every year and this time he has decided to celebrate his birthday with his fans. He was born to producer D Ramanaidu and Rajeshwari in Chennai on December 13, 1960.

Vidya Balan’s The Dirty Picture which was released in Telugu and Tamil along with original Hindi version has proved to be a big hit at the box office. It has collected close to Rs. 65 crore nett in just ten days, that too only in India.

The Dirty Picture collected 11 crore nett in its second weekend at Indian box office. This proves that the film hasn’t lost the steam and is likely to rake in few more crores before the business comes to an end.

Super hit Tamil film Ko, which was also a big hit in Telugu as Rangam is all set to go to Bollywood soon. Popular directorPrakash Jha is planning to remake it in Hindi. The cast and crew haven’t been finalized yet.

Earlier there was buzz that Akshay Kumaris keen on doing the lead role in Hindi remake of Rangam. Later we heard that the original director K.V. Anand is in plans to direct the Hindi version. However, the film finally landed in Prakash Jha’s hands.

Rangam has been praised as the best scripts in the recent times and if handled well it is likely to click in Hindi too. Let’s wait and see who will play the roles of Jeeva and Ajmal in the Hindi version.

Director Puri Jagannath is the best among his contemporaries when it comes to finishing off a film on schedule. In the modern times, nothing can be predicted and could be done in time. Even seasoned directors are facing problems with getting their project ready within less time.

But Puri Jagannadh said that he would complete Businessman film in just 75 days and as he told, the film is ready in 74 days. This is not a mean feat as the film has one of the biggest stars in the lead. Any director would take at least six months to wrap up aMahesh Babu’s film.

Puri proved that even a Mahesh Babu film could be completed in time if they have pucca script and schedule on hand. Businessman will be releasing on January 11 without any delay.

Uday Kiran’s film Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta is also slated for release on this Friday. Priyamani’s Kshetram too is gearing up, but nothing has been confirmed regarding its release. Journey is likely to take a good start at the box office, due to the buzz surrounding it.

Rajanna will be the last big release of this year and we hope that it ends 2011 on a high note. Meanwhile focus would be on this week’s releases. Let’s see if they could make any mark at the cash counters.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s new film under the direction of Vamsi Paidipallytitled Yevadu has completed its pooja ceremony today. The event was held at Prasad Labs at 7am in the morning. The event was graced by Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Allu Arvind, Dil Raju, Vamsi Paidipally, etc attended the event.

The clapboard was sounded by Chiranjeevi. The guests attended the event wishes the team all success. The first look posters of Charan in the movie are fantastic. He is sporting a new look for this movie. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music. Abburi Ravi is providing dialogues and Chota K Naidu is the lens man. Ashok is the art director. The film will commence shooting from early next year.
